DAE remember when you could daily drive a 60s car and nobody blinked?
Drove my buddy's '65 Galaxie from Toledo to Detroit last month and had to explain to three different people at a gas station why it doesn't have AC, power steering, or a backup camera, and honestly the weird looks made me miss the days when half the lot at work was full of cars just like it, so what's the oldest car you still trust on a 200 mile trip?
Keep a small toolbox in the trunk and know your weak spots before you leave. Points, condenser, and a spare fuel filter take up no room and save you on the shoulder. Check the belts and hoses at every gas stop, not just when you remember. Old cars are fine for 200 miles if you look them over first and don't push them past 60. My rule is simple: if it can't sit at highway speed for an hour without getting hot, it stays home.
