I finally get why people hate on restomods

For the longest time I thought dropping in a modern drivetrain was the smartest move, but after seeing a 1967 Mustang with an LS swap at a local show in Dayton, I changed my mind. The owner couldn't even tell me what the original engine code was, and that just felt wrong. Anyone else feel like you lose part of the car's story when you gut the original setup?

Read a piece in some car mag about this exact thing. Said the VIN and the data plate tell the real story, and when you rip out the original mill, you're basically erasing that. The LS is a good motor, dont get me wrong, but that Mustang was just a shell wearing a costume. Guy knew the torque numbers but not the original paint code either. Kinda sums it up.
