Furnace died in the middle of January in Parma

Woke up to 48 degrees inside my house on a Monday morning. Furnace just quit, no warning. Had to call Mullins Heating and they charged me $380 for a new blower motor. Anyone else dealt with sudden furnace failure in the dead of winter here?

Same thing happened to me up in Mentor two winters ago. Woke up to 46 degrees and frost on the inside of the windows. I called around and ended up learning that sometimes it's just the capacitor, not the whole motor. My guy came out, charged me $150 for a service call and a $15 part. The $380 for a blower motor sounds steep but if it was dead of winter and they had to come out same day, that's about right. I keep a couple space heaters in the basement now just in case.

Whoa. Reminds me of when my sump pump went out during that big April thaw a few years back, flooded half the basement.
