Gutter guard regret after that big storm last month

I was so sure those mesh gutter guards would save me time... then we got that 2-inch downpour in Lakewood and water was just pouring over the sides. Climbed up there Saturday and the guards were completely clogged with those helicopter seeds from the maple tree. Had to pull all 60 feet of them off and just clean the gutters the old way with my hands. Took me 3 hours and my back was killing me but at least the water flows now. Anyone else ditch gutter guards after a bad storm?

Oh man, is it really that big of a deal though? I get that it was annoying, but three hours of gutter cleaning once a year is not exactly the end of the world. Seems like a lot of drama over something that's just gonna happen again next spring anyway.

Yeah throw some gutter guards on there and it's a ten minute job.

Three hours a year? Try three hours with a ladder wobbling on wet grass, a leaf blower that dies halfway through, and a mystery nest of something that buzzed at me. And the gutter guards? Yeah, ten minutes to slap them on but two hours of cussing to get the old ones off without breaking the brackets. Call me dramatic, but I'd rather spend that three hours doing literally anything else. Like watching paint dry. At least that doesn't leave me covered in slime.
