I finally bit the bullet on a radon mitigation system
My basement tested at 5.4 pCi/L back in October and I kept putting off doing anything about it. Finally called a local company and they installed a sub-slab system for $1,200. Wish I did it sooner honestly because my kids play down there all the time. Anyone else deal with radon in their Cleveland home?

Kissing 5.4 pCi/L is no joke, especially with kids down there. I tested at 7.2 a couple years ago and waited way too long too. The worst part is you can't even smell or see it, so it's easy to just ignore. But once you get that number back on paper, it's hard to unsee it. $1,200 sounds about right for Cleveland. A lot of guys around here try to upsell you on fancy stuff you don't need. Good on you for pulling the trigger.

Totally feel you on that. @kevin_west nailed it - the invisible stuff is the creepiest part. My buddy's house tested at 6.8 and we joked about it until his kid got diagnosed with some lung issues years later. Not saying it was from that, but made me check mine real fast. You made the right call for sure.
