I finally figured out why my water bill was so high after 2 years in my Tremont house
I kept thinking it was just the old pipes, but then my neighbor mentioned his bill was half of mine for a similar sized place. I went down and checked my meter while nothing was running, and the little red triangle was still spinning, meaning a constant leak somewhere. Turns out the toilet flapper in the upstairs bathroom had been slowly leaking for who knows how long. Has anyone else had a sneaky leak that jacked up their utilities?

Honestly people get way too worried about small leaks. That little red triangle moving doesn't always mean a huge problem or a big bill. Water is pretty cheap in a lot of places, so a slow toilet leak might only add a few bucks a month. Constantly checking the meter just seems like extra stress for no real payoff.

Heard about a friend whose fridge line dripped for months.

Yeah, a "dripped for months" line is a slow-motion disaster. I read that even a tiny leak can wreck your floor and subfloor over time. People don't notice until there's a huge repair bill.
