I finally fixed my leaky basement after 2 years of trying
Turns out the French drain I installed was clogged with tree roots from a maple I didn't think was close enough. Has anyone else dealt with roots sneaking into drainage pipes?

Well ain't that just like a tree, always gotta stick its nose where it don't belong...

OH MAN @reesel50 you hit the nail on the head! It's like that pattern shows up EVERYWHERE in life. People or things just creep in where they don't belong, whether it's my neighbor's overgrown bushes blocking my driveway or someone casually inserting their opinion into a conversation that had nothing to do with them. You'll find it with loan roots sneaking into your pipes, gossip sneaking into friendships, or even that one coworker always leaving their lunch mess in the office fridge. It's almost like nature and people have this built-in tendency to spread out and get comfortable where they shouldn't.

Well, "2 years" really got me. You spent two whole years chasing a leak and it was tree roots the whole time? That just hurts my brain to think about. I woulda lost my mind long before that, probably started blaming the foundation or something crazy. And a maple you didn't think was close enough? Man, those roots travel farther than you'd ever guess. I don't know how you kept your cool through all that.
