Just paid $400 for a sewer scope inspection before buying my house in Ohio City
The inspector found a belly in the line and a partial blockage from tree roots, which the seller agreed to fix for $2,500. It felt like a lot upfront, but it saved me from a huge headache and cost down the road. Has anyone else had a sewer inspection reveal a major problem they dodged?

That sewer scope money is always worth it. Buddy of mine skipped it and had to dig up his whole front yard six months later.

Totally agree that the sewer scope money is worth it. My inspector found a broken clay pipe under the driveway. The seller gave us a 10k credit at closing, which covered the whole repair. That upfront cost felt painful but it basically paid for a new sewer line. I would have been stuck with that bill myself.

Yeah, @pat_fisher24's buddy learned the hard way. We found a belly in our line and got a huge credit too, best money we spent.
