My basement flooded again last Tuesday. Third time this year.

Found out the city's sewer line backs up during heavy rain. Cost me $800 for a plumber to tell me what I already knew. Anybody in Cleveland dealing with this from the aging pipes?

My buddy over in Parma had the same problem last spring. He ended up getting a backwater valve installed for around $1,200 (which hurt) but it stopped the sewage from coming up through his basement drains during heavy rain. Might be worth looking into before the next big storm hits (and it's only April, you know?).

That's how it goes, fix one thing and three more pop up.

Heard this can get really bad if you got old clay pipes.
