My old way of dealing with basement dampness was a losing battle until I found a cheap fix at the hardware store on Lorain Ave.

That hardware store on Lorain is a lifesaver. I spent three years and probably a thousand bucks on fancy dehumidifiers that just hummed in the corner. Then I got a $5 tube of concrete crack sealer from there, slapped it on, and my basement went from smelling like a swamp to just... a basement. Felt pretty dumb.

But those dehumidifiers are still doing the real work, they just needed a fair shot.

It's like we're trained to throw money at the fancy fix first. We buy the gadget when the real problem is a five dollar crack in the wall. Makes you wonder what else we're overcomplicating.
