Pro tip: the $18 foam gasket kit for my attic hatch stopped the ice dams on my Lakewood roof
I figured the problem was my shingles after 2 winters of icicles and a $400 heating bill spike, but a neighbor on Marlowe Ave said to seal the hatch first, and no ice has formed since November.
