PSA: My basement sump pump line froze solid in February

Tbh, it took me three entire weekends of thawing and insulating with heat tape to finally get it flowing right. Anyone near Ohio City have a better setup for those brutal cold snaps?

Three weekends is basically a part-time job for a frozen pipe. That's the kind of cold that makes you want to move south (or at least invest in a flamethrower). Good luck out there.

My buddy in Minnesota spent four days on a frozen pipe last winter. He said the cold gets into your bones and the work never seems to end. I feel for anyone dealing with that.
