Question about dealing with old Cleveland sewer lines
Our basement drain backed up last month, and the plumber found our 1920s clay pipe had collapsed under the driveway. Instead of a full $10k dig, he suggested a $3,500 cured-in-place pipe liner, and it worked perfectly. Has anyone else in Ohio City or Tremont gone with this fix for their old sewer?

Check with your home insurance before you decide. Some policies cover sewer line replacement but not liners, which could change the math. That saved my neighbor a ton of money last year.

Listen to @rileym94 because that insurance check is step one. My policy had a weird clause that only paid for a full dig up, not the liner fix. Had to fight them for months to get it covered. Always get the exact coverage in writing before you let any contractor start work. Saved myself from a nasty surprise bill that way.

My cousin in Ohio had a 20k sewer repair that insurance only covered because they did a full replacement.
