Spent $400 on a radon mitigation system and it actually paid off fast
I was skeptical when my home inspector said my basement levels were at 8 pCi/L, which is double the EPA action limit. Paid a company called AAR Radon Services out of Parma to install a sub-slab depressurization system last spring. The test after installation dropped to 1.2 pCi/L, and my neighbor who skipped it just had to disclose his high levels to a buyer. Anyone else deal with radon when selling or buying here in Cleveland?

Yeah, I used to think radon was just another thing home inspectors scare you into fixing. But after seeing your numbers drop from 8 to 1.2, that's pretty convincing. It's crazy how something invisible can mess up a home sale like that.

Wait, isn't 1.2 still above the 0.4 level they find in outdoor air though? The EPA's "action level" of 4 is kind of an arbitrary number they picked for political reasons, not a hard safety line. I just wonder how much of this is real danger versus people getting scared into spending thousands on mitigation systems.

Wait, hold on - people are really spending thousands on mitigation systems? That's wild to me. I had no idea it was that expensive. Are people getting scammed or is this actually legit?
