The old furnace in my Lakewood house vs the new one I put in last winter
I had that old 1950s beast in my basement for 10 years, just chugging along. Gas bill was $320 in January and it still left cold spots in the back bedroom. Swapped it out for a 96% efficiency unit last fall and my bills dropped to $180 even with the polar vortex. Anyone else see that kind of difference after upgrading?

Whoa, hold on, $320 to $180? That's insane! I mean, I knew new furnaces were better but that's like cutting your bill almost in half. Maybe it's just me but I always figured the savings would be smaller, like only a few bucks here and there. But you're saying the old one was still leaving cold spots too, so you basically fixed two problems at once. Idk, that makes me want to finally get a quote for my place because my bills are getting brutal and I just assumed it was normal.

Yeah I read something from Consumer Reports that said upgrading from a 70s or 80s furnace can cut your gas bill by 30-50% easy, so your numbers totally track lol.
