Too many neighbors are ignoring the radon test requirement during home inspections

I sold my house in Parma last fall and the buyer's inspector found radon levels at 5.2 pCi/L, which cost me $1,200 to fix, but three of my friends skipped the test entirely and now their buyers are backing out after the fact, has anyone else run into this problem with closing delays?

Mitigation paid for itself when my buyer stuck around though.

Man, that's a rough spot for your buddies to be in. I had a similar situation last year where a friend of mine skipped the radon test on a rental property he was flipping and the deal fell through three weeks before closing, cost him a good chunk of change in holding costs and he had to relist at a lower price. It's one of those things where you think you're saving a couple hundred bucks but it can blow up into a real headache, especially when buyers get spooked later on.

Wait, three weeks before closing? That's insane, I thought that stuff usually comes up way earlier in the process lol. So he just lost all that time and money over skipping a $200 test?
