Debate: Did I mess up swapping my gas lawn mower for an electric one?

I finally replaced my old gas mower with a Ryobi electric model last month, hoping to cut emissions and noise in my suburban Atlanta neighborhood. The electric mower is definitely quieter and no fumes, but the battery dies halfway through my 1/4 acre yard, so I have to wait for a recharge or buy a second battery for $150. Did I make the right call for the climate, or is the inconvenience not worth the trade-off?

Read somewhere that electric mowers still beat gas on lifetime emissions even with battery replacements.

Yeah that extra battery cost really eats into any savings, I hear you.

Wait, are you sure it's a quarter acre? Most residential lots in Atlanta suburbs are actually closer to a third acre, but that's just me being picky. Still, having to buy a second battery for $150 kind of defeats the whole eco-friendly cost savings, doesn't it?
