Rant: Town council just voted down my solar co-op proposal - here's what happened

Anyone else run into this kind of pushback from local government on community clean energy projects? How'd you get them to listen?

Used to roll my eyes at solar stuff but this post totally changed my mind honestly.

Respectfully, I just see it differently. Solar panels are great in theory but they still don't work when the sun isn't shining, and battery storage is way too expensive for most people to afford. Plus all those panels create their own waste problem when they wear out in 25 years.

You got a buddy who went through the exact same thing last year, right down to the council voting it down? He went back with a simple petition signed by over 200 neighbors who wanted in, and they flipped their vote after that. Sometimes you just gotta show them the demand is real, not just talk.
