The stat about concrete production that made me spit out my drink
I was reading a random article last Tuesday about how much CO2 comes from making cement. Turns out if the concrete industry was a country, it would be the third biggest emitter after China and the US. That blew my mind because I always think about cars and planes when I picture pollution. Has anyone else run into a climate fact that completely shifted how you see something normal?

I get that, but respectfully the big picture is still staggering even with the exact numbers adjusted.

Yeah, that statistic gets thrown around a lot but it's actually a bit off. Concrete and cement are related but not the same thing, and the number usually lumps together all the processes from mining to transport.
