Unpopular opinion: a flooded basement in Iowa City last spring got me into climate stuff more than any rally did
Curious if the personal hit is what actually moves people to act, or if we should keep pushing the big picture stuff that most folks tune out?

My neighbor's sump pump died during that same storm and I spent 3 hours shop vaccing water out of his basement at 2am. That did more to me than any news story ever has. Standing in ankle deep water watching my kids' toys float by just flips a switch in your brain. Big picture stuff is easy to ignore when it's just numbers on a screen. But when it's your own stuff getting wrecked it stops being a debate. People gotta feel it to get it I guess.
