18 weeks of flying chips and I finally see the light

Used to eyeball speeds and feeds like some kind of wizard, just listen for the sound and hope for the best, but after blowing out a $400 carbide end mill last Thursday I switched to a proper cutting data spreadsheet my buddy runs. Now every job gets a quick calc before I even touch the handle, takes about 2 minutes and I haven't chipped a tool since. Anyone else still running old school by ear or am I the last one holding a stopwatch?

That spreadsheet trick saved my ass too, but now I add a 10% fudge factor for every calc.
