Bought a cheap coolant mister for my home shop and it's a total game changer
Found one online for about 80 bucks and figured why not try it. Hooked it up to my small benchtop mill and the difference on aluminum cuts is crazy, way less heat and way better finish. I was getting chatter on some thin wall stuff before and this just stopped it cold. Anyone have tips for keeping the nozzle from clogging with our hard water?

Hold up, you're saying distilled water is the only fix? That's a huge pain and gets expensive fast. I've been using the same cheap mister for years on regular tap water, just clean the nozzle with a pin every couple weeks. Takes two seconds. The mineral buildup isn't that bad if you just stay on top of it. Buying special water turns an 80 dollar win into a constant cost.

Wait, you got one for eighty bucks? That's insane, mine cost three times that and it's basically the same plastic box with a pump. For the nozzle, just run distilled water, it's the only thing that works long term with hard water. The mineral buildup will wreck the small parts fast.

Ever notice how many things are just the same cheap parts with a huge price tag slapped on?
