Can we talk about how family fights before your shift mess with your CNC game?
Bringing home stress to the machine can cause you to mess up parts or get hurt, so always pause to calm down first.

Honestly, it's wild how home drama follows you to the shop floor. My cousin once tried to run a lathe after a huge argument with his wife, and he ended up turning a perfectly good piece of stock into a modern art sculpture. The foreman just stared at it for a solid minute before asking if we were making art now. We had to scrap the part and start over, which set back the whole line. Now we have a rule about checking your personal baggage at the time clock, but some people still bring their whole suitcase.

But can people really leave their feelings at the time clock? I've seen folks try, but a bad mood usually follows them right to their station. Trying to lock it away sometimes means it comes out worse later.

That line about "checking your personal baggage at the time clock" is the problem. You can't actually do that. Feelings aren't a suitcase you can just leave by the door. Telling people to try just makes them feel worse when it doesn't work. It's more like trying to drive a car with a foggy windshield. You might get where you're going, but you're gonna miss stuff and it's risky. The mood is in the car with you.
