Changed my mind on coolant after 7 inserts died in one week
I used to run my old Haas dry on aluminum because a guy at a shop in Tulsa said coolant was just a crutch. Last month I tracked it and ate through 7 inserts in 5 days on a single 6061 job, which was more than I went through the whole prior year. Swapped to flood coolant on the same program and that same batch of inserts ran 3 weeks before I changed them. So yeah, I was wrong, and now I want to know if anyone runs mist instead of full flood and actually saves money doing it.
