DRO probed a hole through my part after 2 am restart

Lost a $900 fixturing block in Columbus because my DRO coordinates shifted after a power blip, right in the middle of a 30 part run. Anyone else stopped trusting absolute position after a restart, or do I need to just add homing to my startup checklist?

Man, that's brutal. A $900 block gone because of a stupid 2 am blip? I feel sick just reading that. I've had my DRO lie to me after a brownout too, not on a part that expensive, but it messed up a whole weekend of work. The thing is, you think you're safe because it's a good brand and it's been solid for years, then it just forgets where it is. I don't trust any absolute position anymore unless I've homed it that morning. Period. Even then, I'll zero-check against a known surface before I let it run in the middle of the night. If you're not homing after every restart, even a quick one, then yeah, add it to your checklist. It's a pain, but it's five minutes of your time versus losing a block like that again.
