Dropped $180 on a 3D probe kit and it paid for itself inside two jobs.
I kept getting bad setups with my old edge finder and finally caved on a Tormach probe package from a guy on Ebay and after dialing in a 6-part run without a single crash I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner, anyone else have luck with aftermarket probing?

Those aftermarket probe kits are a game changer once you get past the initial cost. Crashing has way more financial sting than the whole package usually. Having that kind of certainty on setup makes you wonder how you justified the old way for so long.

Disagree completely Miles. Old school setups taught me way more than trusting a probe kit.

The Tormach probe kits are solid, but I think @miles_roberts is right that crashing costs way more than the probe itself. Still, your old edge finder probably taught you more about setups than any probe ever could.
