Pro tip: Never trust a 'quick fix' coolant line from a guy named Dave at a trade show in Cleveland.

I was at the big manufacturing show there last year and this vendor swore his new plastic quick-connect fitting could handle 90 PSI. Hooked it up to my VF-2SS as a test, and about three hours into a run, the thing blew off like a rocket. It sprayed coolant all over the ceiling, the machine, and me. I spent the next two hours cleaning up a 30-gallon mess and checking every axis for water damage. What's the weirdest 'time-saving' gadget that actually cost you more time?

Man, that sounds like a mess but was it really that bad? Coolant lines pop sometimes, it's part of the job. A couple hours cleanup is annoying but not the end of the world. Maybe the fitting was junk, but testing new stuff always has risks. You get your machine back up and running okay after all that?

Just pressure test new lines before you hook them up.

You said testing new stuff always has risks, but that's exactly why you test it. A controlled test on the bench finds the junk fitting before it's in the system. It turns a big mess into a small delay.
