Spent 5 hours hunting a 0.0005 inch tool offset error on a Mazak

Kept getting parts 0.001 out of spec and thought it was the machine losing position. Turned out someone bumped the tool setter and the offset was off by a hair. Has anyone else wasted a shift on something that simple?

Man, did you at least check the tool setter first or go straight to blaming the machine?

Haha yeah I might've skipped the obvious step and went straight to blaming the gremlins in the control box! Classic case of overthinking it.
