Spindle vibration wrecked 14 parts before I caught it

Last Tuesday my Haas started leaving chatter marks on the finish pass, looked fine on the first piece but by part 14 the tolerance was way out. Turns out the drawbar was pulling the tool holder unevenly, I swapped the pull studs and it ran clean again. Has anyone else had vibration that only showed up under specific spindle speeds, or was it just my setup?

I had a similar issue on our 2007 VF-3 about two years back. The vibration showed up only between 6,200 and 6,800 RPM, which was right where we ran our finishing cycle. Turns out the spindle bearings had a tiny flat spot, but it only made noise at that exact speed band. Replaced the bearings and it never happened again. What you found with the drawbar makes sense though, because uneven pull can shift the tool centerline just enough to throw off finish at higher speeds.
