Switched from paper notes to a digital logbook on the floor after a 3am crash
I used to keep all my offsets and tool wear notes on paper scraps taped to the control panel, then a coolant spill ruined three weeks of setup info last month. Now I type everything into a cheap tablet mounted on a swing arm, and it's saved my butt twice already when I had to rerun a job. Anyone else make the jump to digital notes, or do you still trust the old paper method?

Last year I would've told you paper was fine and that was that. Then my dog knocked a coffee cup right onto my clipboard and every damn setup from the past two months was toast. That was the moment I switched to a $50 used tablet on a cheap arm mount. Took me a week to get used to typing instead of scribbling, but now I can search back through three years of jobs in seconds. I still keep a grease pencil on the panel for quick notes, but everything important goes digital now. Never thought I'd say it, but you can't beat having the whole history right there.
