That $150 probe I cheaped out on cost me a $2k crash yesterday

Bought a generic touch probe off Amazon to save cash on my Haas Mini Mill. Worked fine for a month then gave a false reading during a production run. The tool slammed into the fixture and snapped a $120 endmill plus ruined the part. Anyone else had a cheap probe burn them on a job?

Did you verify the probe was actually measuring right before that run?

Yeah I double checked the probe against a backup sensor first and it was fine.
