Had a coding crash last Tuesday after a power flicker

I was three hours into building my first Python script for a weather data scraper when the lights blinked and my laptop shut down without saving. Lost everything because I hadn't committed to Git or hit save once, which is just dumb rookie stuff. Anybody else have a moment where they realized they need a better backup habit?

Been there with losing work. My old PC used to blue screen every time the power flickered and after the third time I just started saving every 10 minutes like a crazy person. Now I have that habit so drilled in I do it without even thinking.

Did you ever try one of those battery backup things?

Yeah it's funny how one bad experience can train you for life. Reminds me of how people who've had their car break down on a trip end up checking tire pressure and oil levels like it's a ritual.
