My friend told me to just start with Python and not worry about which language was 'best'

I spent a whole month reading about different languages and got nowhere. He said to pick one and build something small, so I made a simple text game in a weekend. Anyone else get stuck in that 'research loop' at the start?

Sometimes you need that research to pick the right tool though.
