My total flip on needing a fancy computer to start coding

Honestly, I used to think you needed a powerful setup just to write basic programs. Tbh, seeing kids code on cheap laptops at school showed me it's all about the practice, not the gear. Ngl, did anyone else waste money before realizing this?

Okay but "all about the practice not the gear" only gets you so far. Try waiting 45 minutes for a simple app to compile on a ten year old laptop, or having your IDE lag every time you type. That's not learning, that's just fighting your tools. Good gear cuts out the boring frustration so you can actually focus on the code. Sometimes the right machine is what lets you practice at all.

Read a tweet the other day saying slow tools turn coding into waiting, not learning. Totally agree that fighting your IDE kills the fun.

Switching to a decent computer made coding fun instead of a constant battle with loading screens.
