Noticed I was spacing code blocks totally wrong for 6 months
I used to just hit the space bar 4 times before each line of code to show it in forum posts. But then I saw someone on a subreddit use triple backticks and it blew my mind. Switched over to using the method back in July and now my Python snippets actually look clean and readable instead of all messed up. Anyone else have a dumb formatting habit they stuck with way too long?

@amy974 brings up a good point about mobile though. I actually read somewhere that most old-school coders still prefer spaces because it works on literally every platform without any formatting issues.

Nah, I actually kinda prefer the spaces. Backticks can be a pain on mobile. Spaces just work everywhere.

Gotta say this connects to a bigger thing I've noticed everywhere. Like how a simple paper notebook still works when your tablet dies, or how cash never has server issues at the farmers market. The stuff that's "boring" usually just keeps working without any fuss. I see it with my friends who are chefs too - they swear by old school knives that never need charging over the fancy electric ones that break after a year. Sometimes the most basic solution is actually the most reliable one in the long run.
