PSA: I saw a 'Learn to Code' flyer at the library in Bakersfield that still listed Flash as a skill.

It was in a binder from 2008, and it made me think how fast the basics you need to learn actually change. What's the most outdated beginner advice you've seen still floating around?

My buddy Dave spent a whole weekend in 2002 trying to make a fan site for his band. He had this main page with three frames, one for the menu, one for the news, and a big one for content. Every single link just broke and opened in the wrong tiny frame. He finally got it working, then cried when he learned tables were the better way to do it.

Frames were such a headache, I remember fighting with them too. I actually thought they were the coolest way to build a site back then. Learning about CSS and proper layout later was a total game changer, it made everything so much simpler. Poor Dave, that's the kind of pain that really teaches you what not to do.
