A guy at the coffee shop in Boise told me my pour-over was 'just hot bean water' and I'm still annoyed about it.
He said it while I was carefully timing my bloom, and now I can't help but think about that phrase every single morning when I make my coffee.

That "ruin nice things" feeling hits hard, Logan. Sometimes I wonder if it's because people get scared when something gets too popular or too good. They try to add their own twist or take control, and that's what messes it up. What's a nice thing you've seen get ruined lately?
