Can we talk about the Aeropress holder I saw at a garage sale in Austin

Found this beat up wooden Aeropress stand at a garage sale in Austin for three bucks. Turns out it was handmade by a local woodworker who passed away a few years back and it keeps my press perfectly stable on my uneven counter. Anyone else ever find weird coffee gear at random places that ended up being your favorite tool?

Bought a burr grinder for two bucks at a church sale. My buddy still uses his every morning.

Hell yeah, that's awesome! I found a vintage french press at a flea market in New Orleans for like five bucks. It was all rusty and the filter was messed up, but I cleaned it up and it's the best coffee I've ever made from a press. Thing works perfect every time, no matter how cheap the beans are. I swear half my favorite kitchen stuff comes from random places like garage sales and thrift stores, not from some fancy store. Your aeropress stand sounds like a real gem, especially with the story behind it.

i mean, five bucks for a french press in new orleans sounds like a good deal, but rusty and broken filter? i gotta question how "perfect" it really is. are you sure it's not just the placebo effect of finding something cheap and fixing it yourself? @janarivera, i dunno, maybe i'm too picky but i've had cheap thrift store kitchen stuff and sometimes it's just worn out. like that one time i bought a vintage hand mixer at a garage sale and it smelled like burnt toast every time i used it. i bet that french press is giving you a little bit of metal dust in every cup and you just don't notice.
