DAE notice their coffee tastes way better after cleaning the grinder burrs for the first time in 8 months
I finally took apart my hand grinder on Saturday because the handle was getting stiff, and the burrs had this thick brown gunk caked on them that I didn't even know was there. I scrubbed them with a toothbrush and some warm water, let everything dry, and ground 20 grams of a medium roast I've been drinking for a while. The cup was so much brighter and I could actually taste the lemon note that the bag talks about, which I honestly thought was just marketing. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was like drinking a different coffee, and now I feel dumb for waiting so long. How often are you all pulling your grinders apart, and is there a set number of pounds or something you go by?
