Finally counted how many coffee filters I go through in a year and it's kind of gross

I've been doing pour over every morning for about 3 years now and never really thought about it until my package of filters ran out early. So I did the math - 365 days times 2 cups a day for me and my wife equals 730 filters a year. That's a lot of paper going in the trash. I guess I could switch to a metal mesh filter but I hear they let more sediment through. Anyone try the reusable cloth filters and notice a taste difference?

Funny enough, I always thought reusable filters were just a trend until I saw the actual numbers too. Makes you wonder why we don't question the waste sooner.

Honestly I'm too lazy to even count my sins like that tbh.

Ngl, have you thought about composting those paper filters instead of trashing them?
