Got yelled at by a barista for ordering a pour-over during the lunch rush
I was at Brew Lab in Austin last Tuesday and ordered their single origin pour-over around 12:30 PM. The barista snapped at me saying it takes 6 minutes and they were slammed with espresso drinks. I get it now but their menu lists it so how was I supposed to know? Has anyone else run into this weird timing thing at specialty shops?

Honestly, I had the exact same thing happen at a shop in Portland called Heart. I ordered a pour-over at like 11am on a Saturday and the guy just sighed. What worked for me was I started asking if they were too busy for a pour-over before ordering. That way the barista can say yes and I pick a drip coffee instead. Most shops will just tell you straight up if you ask.

Is it really that deep though? Picking a different coffee because the shop is busy seems like a pretty normal thing, not some big life hack.
