I dropped $80 on a tiny coffee scale and it felt silly at first

Okay, so for the longest time I just eyeballed my coffee grounds, you know? I figured my pour over was fine. Then I kept seeing people online talk about grams and ratios, and I finally caved and got this little digital scale that measures to the tenth of a gram. It cost about eighty bucks, which seemed crazy for something my kitchen scale does for big stuff. But using it showed me I was using way too much coffee, like almost five grams extra every time. My cups went from kinda bitter and strong to actually sweet and balanced overnight. It sounds small, but it made brewing feel less like a guess and more like something I could actually get better at. Has anyone else had a simple tool totally change their daily cup?

Still seems like a lot of fuss for a cup of coffee.

What ratio did you settle on after using the scale?

Wait, what kind of kitchen scale do you have? Most basic ones don't measure small amounts accurately at all. That's the whole point of a dedicated coffee scale.
