Just hit 1000 straight mornings of pourover and my scale surprised me

I finally totaled up how much I spent on single origin beans over the last 3 years and it came to $2,340 which is way more than I guessed, has anyone else added up their coffee spending and regretted it?

Tbh that's like a year of Starbucks runs" - nah man, $2,340 for just beans over 3 years is different than dropping that at a cafe. At Starbucks you at least get a drink and maybe a pastry for that money. You're paying for the whole experience there. Here you just got a bag of beans and had to do all the work yourself. But honestly, if you enjoyed those 1000 mornings and the coffee was good, who cares about the total? People drop way more on hobbies they don't even stick with for a week so you're probably fine.

Tbh that's like a year of Starbucks runs, not exactly wild spending.

Jake, you're not wrong about the Starbucks comparison. I did the same math on my own espresso setup and figured out it was actually cheaper per cup than buying from a shop after the first few months. But yeah, nobody needs to defend spending a couple grand on something that makes them happy every single day.
