Just realized I've spent over $400 on coffee gear this month alone

I was adding up receipts for a new grinder and some fancy beans, and the total shocked me. Part of me thinks it's crazy to spend that much on a hobby, but the other part says the perfect cup is worth every penny. The grinder alone was $250, and I got a special roast from Guatemala for $20 a bag. Do you guys have a budget for your coffee stuff, or do you just go for it?

You call that a problem? My last "quick look" at a coffee site ended with a new kettle and a scale that talks to my phone. Now I'm trying to explain to my bank account that yes, I did need a $40 tiny spoon for dosing. It's a slippery, expensive slope.

Set a monthly limit for gear and stick to it, that's what saved me from going broke like @ericj45. I give myself a small budget for beans and save up for bigger items. It keeps the hobby fun without the guilt.

That's a smart plan, jake986, and my own "coffee fund" jar has saved my marriage more than once.
