The stat about caffeine content in dark vs light roasts caught me off guard

I always thought dark roast had way more caffeine because it tastes stronger. Turns out I found a study from a coffee science blog that said light roast actually has slightly more caffeine by volume because the beans are denser. Anyone else feel like everything you thought you knew about coffee is a lie?

Right there with you, it totally flipped my coffee world upside down too.

Wait, @anthony_campbell88, you're saying dark roast actually has less caffeine?

Exactly. The "stronger taste = more caffeine" logic makes sense but it's totally wrong. Roast level changes the flavor, not the stimulant.
