The switch from bottomless portafilter to a spouted one changed my mornings

For about 3 years I pulled every shot with a bottomless portafilter, watching for channeling and spraying like it was some kind of science experiment. Then I got a cheap spouted one at a garage sale in Portland last spring and honestly, I stopped obsessing over every tiny imperfection. The taste is the same, my counter stays cleaner, and I actually drink my coffee instead of filming it for slow motion analysis. Has anyone else gone backwards on gear and felt more relaxed about their routine?

Oh man, this hits so close to home lol.
