TIL: A barista at a drive-thru in Charlotte changed how I think about pour overs
She told me I was pouring too fast after I complained about bitter coffee, so I slowed it down to a tiny trickle and the next cup tasted completely different - has anyone else had a random stranger fix their brew method like that?

Had the exact same thing happen to me at a coffee shop in Denver last year. Guy at the counter watched me pouring and said I was going way too fast, like a fire hose instead of a drizzle. I slowed it down to barely a drip and he was right, the bitterness was gone and I actually tasted the fruit notes for the first time. It's wild how something so simple can totally change the cup, makes me wonder how many other little tricks I'm missing.

Barely a drip"? You're joking. That must've taken forever.

Pouring coffee slower really makes that much difference?
