TIL that $22 burr grinder off a clearance rack was the most expensive cheap thing I ever bought
I mean, it looked fine in the box. Took it home, ran some beans through it, and the grind came out in three different sizes at once. My pour overs tasted muddy for two months before I figured out what was going on, and I blamed my beans, my kettle, my water, everything but that grinder. Finally borrowed a friend's hand grinder and the same beans tasted like a totally different drink. Wound up buying a decent burr grinder anyway, so that $22 was basically a tip I paid to be confused for a while. Anyone else got a cheap coffee tool that ended up costing them more in the long run?
