Unpopular opinion: I just read that most coffee beans lose their best flavor within two weeks of roasting, not the month everyone says.

Found this in a study from the University of California, Davis coffee center. They tested it. It made me check the dates on my bags, and sure enough, my 'fresh' month-old beans were probably already past their prime. I've been wasting good coffee. Does anyone have a good system for buying smaller amounts more often?

Saw a barista blog once that said gatekeeping coffee is pointless. I mean, if you like it, you're doing it right. That whole debate just seems like a way to make people feel bad for no reason.
