A barista in Portland told me my laptop order was rude, and she was right
Two years ago at a shop on Alberta Street in Portland, I ordered a drip coffee and then spread out my laptop, charger, and notebook across a four-top table like I owned the place. The barista came by and said, "You took the only table where two people can sit and talk." I was annoyed at the time, but she was right, and I changed how I work. Now I sit at the counter or a two-top, and if the place fills up I pack it in after 45 minutes instead of camping out for 3 hours. Has anyone else gotten called out like that, and did it actually stick with you?
